Privacy policy
Last updated 21 August 2026 · applies to QR File Sender version 1.0.0
Files you send with QR File Sender never reach us, because they never reach a network. A transfer happens entirely between two devices, as light between one screen and one camera. There is no upload, no relay and no copy on any server we or anyone else operates.
What the app never collects
- The contents of any file you send or receive.
- File names, sizes, types or hashes.
- Who you sent a file to, or received one from.
- Camera images. Frames are decoded in memory and discarded.
- Contacts, location, microphone or your photo library.
None of this leaves your device, so none of it can be requested, subpoenaed or breached. There is no account to create and nothing to sign in to.
What the app does collect
Anonymous usage analytics
The app includes Google Firebase Analytics. It records app events such as launches, screen views and whether a transfer completed, together with a randomly generated app-instance identifier, your device model, operating system version, language and an approximate region derived from your IP address. These records are not tied to your name, your email or any file. Google processes them as our data processor; see the Firebase privacy documentation for details. You can reset the identifier by clearing app data or reinstalling.
A version check on launch
On launch and on resume, the app fetches one small JSON document describing the current supported version and feature flags. That request tells the hosting provider your IP address, the time of the request and your app version, in the way any HTTPS request does. It carries no identifier of you and no information about your transfers. It is the only network request the app makes on its own behalf.
Permissions
- Camera — required only to receive. The camera feed is decoded on the device and never recorded or transmitted. Sending a file needs no permission at all.
- Storage — used to read the file you chose to send and to write a received file into the app’s LightSpeed/ folder. The exact path is shown in Settings.
Advertising
This version of the app contains no advertising SDK and shows no ads. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated before an ad is served, and the change will be described here rather than announced only in a store listing.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing about a child to delete on request — but if you believe otherwise, write to us and we will investigate.
Data retention and your rights
Analytics records are retained by Google for the retention window configured on the Firebase project and are deleted automatically after it. Because we hold no identifier that links those records to you, we cannot single out and export or erase “your” analytics — the practical equivalent is to clear the app’s data or uninstall it, which severs the app-instance identifier for good. For anything else, including questions under the GDPR or CCPA, write to ngandcoofc@gmail.com.
This website
This site is served as static files from Firebase Hosting. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no third-party fonts, scripts or trackers. Firebase Hosting keeps standard server request logs, which include IP addresses, as part of operating the service.
