These terms apply when you use the QR File Sender app or this website. Using either means you accept them. If you do not, do not use them.
Licence
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for any lawful purpose. You may not sell, sublicense or rent the app, or remove its notices.
What you are responsible for
- The files you send. The app moves bytes between two devices and makes no judgement about them; you are responsible for having the right to send what you send.
- Keeping your own copies. A transfer that fails, or a device that is lost, is not recoverable by us — we hold nothing.
- Your passphrase, if you encrypt a transfer. There is no recovery path. A forgotten passphrase means the received file cannot be opened by anyone, including us.
- Using the app where you are allowed to. Some sites and networks restrict cameras or the movement of data; that is between you and them.
What we do not promise
The app is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Transfer speed depends on your two devices, your screens, your cameras and the light in the room, and is not guaranteed. Nothing here excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death, personal injury or fraud.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits or business interruption arising from your use of the app. Because the app is supplied free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Updates and availability
The app checks a hosted policy document on launch, which can require an update before an older build continues to run. This exists so a build with a serious defect can be taken out of use without waiting for people to update voluntarily. We may change, suspend or discontinue the app or this site at any time.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept the revision.
